Instructions for students (MBBS) discipline

Do's

  1. A minimum of 75% attendance in Theory and 80% in Practicals each academic year is compulsory as per the Pondicherry University regulations. Students falling short of attendance and those availing long leaves will be able to appear for the examination only after additional one year.
  2. Every student is required to score a minimum of 50% marks in all subjects in the internal assessment tests to be eligible to appear in the University examinations
  3. During working hours (8.00am to 4.00pm) the following Dress code has to be followed:
    1. Clean and tidy dress
    2. Clean white aprons
    3. Neatly combed hair
    4. Identity card
    5. Formal shoes for boys
    6. Combed and tied hair for girls
  4. It is compulsory for first year students / assigned MBBS batch and council members to participate in Republic Day (26th January), Independence Day (15th August) and all Institutional functions.
  5. All inmates of the hostels have to be inside the hostel premises before the in-timings.
  6. It is mandatory for all the Residents of the hostel to attend the roll call every day. Those who fail to attend will be penalized.

Dont's

  1. No student is allowed to take leave before or after a vacation / long break.
  2. Students are NOT allowed to take leave during Institutional programs like AURA, EQUINOX, sports day etc.
  3. Smoking / use of drugs/ use of alcohol are BANNED within the campus.
  4. Any student found to possess or found to be under the influence of alcohol/ cigarettes / narcotics within the premises of the PIMS campus will be suspended from the institution for a period of 6 months.
  5. In the best interest of students, Motor vehicles are not allowed inside the campus.
  6. Boys are NOT permitted to wear the following dress in the campus during class / working hours
    1. T- Shirts
    2. Jeans
    3. Shorts
    4. Chappals
    5. Caps
    6. Ankle length pants
  7. Girls are NOT permitted to wear the following dress in the campus during class / working hours
    1. T- Shirts
    2. Jeans
    3. Short tops
    4. Ankle length pants
    5. Skirts
  8. 8. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the campus. Perpetrators will be dealt with suitable disciplinary actions.
