The Institution offers under graduate program leading to MBBS and recognized by Pondicherry University. The college has been approved for full recognition by MCI (Ref.: Letter No.MCI-34(41)/2007-Med./26987, dated 08.01.2008) for MBBS Degree granted by the Pondicherry University. Excellent facilities are available for the students to undergo curricular and extra curricular activities. Separate hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls inside the campus.
Notification as per Gazette of India [No. U.12012/41/2001-ME(P-II)] Dated: 6^th June - 2008 *** SO. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of the section 11 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956), the Central Government, after consulting the Medical Council of India, hereby makes the following further amendments in the First Schedule to the said Act, namely: In the said First Schedule against “Pondicherry University, Pondicherry” under the heading “Recognized Medical Qualification” [in column (2)] and under the heading “Abbreviation for Registration” [in column(3)], the following shall be inserted, namely: (2) (3) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery M.B.B.S (This shall be a recognized medical qualification when granted by Pondicherry University, Pondicherry with the effect from the year 2007 in respect of students trained at Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry)
B.Sc. Nursing
The main purpose of the undergraduate degree in Nursing is to provide an educational programme to prepare young women to take up responsibility in the primary, secondary and tertiary care in the hospital and community as professional nurses. Along with efficiency in rendering health care in different settings, we aim to prepare them in teaching and supervisory skills along with participation in the administration of Nursing service and education.
