Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation was established in the year 2002. This department is concerned with treating CHRONIC PAIN conditions and REHABILITATION for patients who are DIFFERENTLY CHALLENGED.

The  team  members  include  a  young  energetic group of 
2 M.P.T, 10 physiotherapists, one occupational therapist and one prosthetic and orthotic technical staff who are all well trained and experienced.

The department is well equipped with electrotherapy and a gym with exercise therapy epuipments. The electrotherapy includes

The Occupational Therapy section is also fully equipped to handle all the differently challenged patients, in helping them to improve in their self care and activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing, toilet transfer activities, and improving hand functions and dexirity.

The occupational therapy treatment method includes
  • Self care evaluation and training
  • Acquisition of training in assertive and adaptive devices
  • Home making and child care skills
  • Work simplification for energy conservation
  • Work related activities
  • Training in using prosthetic devices
  • Transfer training and wheel chair mobility training
  • Home evaluation, assessment and adaptation
  • Adaptation to Architectural barriers
  • Training in the use of communications skills and environmental control systems
  • Restoration of cognitiv, sensorimotor, and psychosocial functions, which are combined to improve overall function.
Prosthetic and Orthotic Section of the department is fully-equipped to fabricate the high-tech Artificial Limbs and various types of splints, braces and walking aids.

PMR department provides rehabilitation care for the individuals requiring the following

The department also has an extension in the Nehru City Centre, at Jawaharlal Nehru Street both for consultation and therapy.
